Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Yayoi Kusama achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Shanghai in September this year. In the 20th/21st Century Art Sale auction, the work Pumpkin sold for HKD 4,284,000.00 (€ 516,880.95) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yayoi Kusama erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in Shanghai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Sale wurde die Arbeit Pumpkin für HKD 4.284.000,00 (€ 516.880,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.500.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
