Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale, which included the work Pumpkin (LPASG) by Yayoi Kusama. It changed hands for a price of HKD 62,540,000.00 (€ 7,083,961.83) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 45,000,000.00 – 65,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yayoi Kusama have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pumpkin (LPASG) von Yayoi Kusama zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 62.540.000,00 (€ 7.083.961,83) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 45.000.000,00 – 65.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
