Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Yasushi Ebihara achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2008. In the Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale) auction, the work Distance sold for HKD 350,000.00 (€ 32,437.68) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yasushi Ebihara; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Short Sleep sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of HKD 487,500.00 (€ 40,134.16).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Yasushi Ebihara erzielte im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Distance für HKD 350.000,00 (€ 32.437,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Yasushi Ebihara; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Short Sleep im Mai 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 487.500,00 (€ 40.134,16).
