In March last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Edo period (1615-1868), 1834 by Yanagawa Shigenobu II. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,724.06), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Yanagawa Shigenobu II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1835 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 9,562.50 (€ 8,259.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Edo period (1615-1868), 1834 von Yanagawa Shigenobu II zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.724,06) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yanagawa Shigenobu II auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1835 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.562,50 (€ 8.259,91).
