This artwork by Mayuca Yamamoto achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016. In the Contemporary Asian Art auction, the work Pool sold for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 9,858.19) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mayuca Yamamoto; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Monster Arms sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of HKD 93,750.00 (€ 10,952.50).
