Description
WU ZUOREN (1908-1997) Gold Fishes Scroll, mounted on woodboard and framed, ink and colour on paper 53.3 x 27 cm. (21 x 10 5 ⁄ 8 in.) Signed, with one seal of the artist One collector's seal NOTE: The painting is accompanied by a certificate issued by China National Museum of Fine Arts. The collector’s seal belongs to Liu Dechao, a renowned connoisseur, who once served in Wuhan Antique Shop.
Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wu Zuoren achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in February this year. In the Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Gold Fishes sold for HKD 113,400.00 (€ 13,626.83) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Zuoren achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Golden Ocean in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 8,167,500.00 (€ 713,988.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wu Zuoren erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Gold Fishes für HKD 113.400,00 (€ 13.626,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wu Zuoren erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Golden Ocean im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.167.500,00 (€ 713.988,97).
