Artwork auctioned at 13 times the upper estimate price
The work Steed by Wu Daolin was worth HKD 650,000.00 (€ 73,232.23) to a buyer in April 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy from the Yong Li Studio at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wu Daolin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Playing Music sold at auction in April 2016 with the realized price of HKD 1,000,000.00 (€ 112,664.98).
