Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings and Sculpture Day Sale, which included the work A Rocky, Wooded Landscape With A Waterfall And Figures by Wolfgang-Adam Töpffer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,653.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wolfgang-Adam Töpffer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Promenade de la Treille à Genève, um 1820 in March 2007 with an auction result of CHF 1,080,000.00 (€ 665,895.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings and Sculpture Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Rocky, Wooded Landscape With A Waterfall And Figures von Wolfgang-Adam Töpffer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.653,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wolfgang-Adam Töpffer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Promenade de la Treille à Genève, um 1820 im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 1.080.000,00 (€ 665.895,02).
