Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Polar summer, Franz Josef Land: Bates Sound with Bruce and Mabel Islands, Northbrook Island beyond by Wladimir Goichman for GBP 840.00 (€ 1,239.18). This price was achieved in the auction Exploration and Travel with the Polar Sale Including The Amundsen Collection at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Wladimir Goichman have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2006 by the work The Admiral Tegetthoff frozen in, Franz-Josef Land, 1873 at GBP 960.00 (€ 1,416.20).
