Artwork auctioned at ten times the pre-set estimate
When the work Handelsschutz-Flottille in seegehend by Willy Stöwer was auctioned at VAN HAM in October 2011, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 100.00 but the actual price achieved was more than ten times as high at EUR 1,032.00. Admittedly, works by Willy Stöwer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work S. M. Yacht "Hohenzollern" verlässt Corfu in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 7,497.00.
Kunstwerk zum Zehnfachen des Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Handelsschutz-Flottille in seegehend von Willy Stöwer im Oktober 2011 bei VAN HAM versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 100,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 1.032,00 mehr als zehnmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willy Stöwer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit S. M. Yacht "Hohenzollern" verlässt Corfu im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 7.497,00.
