Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Market Place and Frauenkirche, Nuremberg, Germany by William Wiehe Collins was sold in the BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES auction at Christies in London in September 2000. The price achieved of GBP 940.00 (€ 1,572.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Wiehe Collins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St Paul'S And Ludgate Hill, 1917 in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,387.32).
