Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Thon could be acquired at Christies in New York in August 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Landscape with ruins changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 198.76) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by William Thon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Early Snow in April 2011 with an auction result of USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,180.76).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Thon konnte im August 2012 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Landscape with ruins für USD 250,00 (€ 198,76) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Thon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Early Snow im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.180,76).
