Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Ours by William Sweetlove. The price achieved of EUR 1,764.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Sweetlove - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cloned Bulldog with pet bottle (coral), which sold at auction in September 2019 for GBP 3,812.00 (€ 4,301.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ours von William Sweetlove zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.764,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Sweetlove mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cloned Bulldog with pet bottle (coral) beobachtet, die im September 2019 für GBP 3.812,00 (€ 4.301,39) versteigert wurde.
