Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Horses by a barn; and a companion drawing by William Sommer was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2012. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,125.00 (€ 842.13) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Sommer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two horses out to pasture, which sold at auction in February 2012 for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,807.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Horses by a barn; and a companion drawing von William Sommer kam im Februar 2012 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.125,00 (€ 842,13) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Sommer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Two horses out to pasture beobachtet, die im Februar 2012 für USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.807,10) versteigert wurde.
