Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Shackleton could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AT HOME-BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS ON PAPER auction, the work A bowl of foxgloves changed hands for GBP 70.50 (€ 101.31) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Admittedly, works by William Shackleton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Best of Friends in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 360.00 (€ 534.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Shackleton konnte im Juni 2003 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion AT HOME-BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS ON PAPER wechselte die Arbeit A bowl of foxgloves für GBP 70,50 (€ 101,31) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 400,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Shackleton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Best of Friends im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 360,00 (€ 534,61).
