A top price for William Sartorius - as previously expected
In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Mallard drakes fighting, with ducks and ducklings in a stream by William Sartorius. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 8,014.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Mallard drakes fighting, with ducks and ducklings in a stream is the most expensive artwork by William Sartorius that we have observed at auctions so far.
