Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Sidney Morrish could be acquired at Christies in London in January 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction, the work The Eiger, Switzerland changed hands for GBP 293.75 (€ 482.63) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Sidney Morrish - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Cornish moorland scene; and A stream running across a Cornish landscape, which sold at auction in March 2003 for GBP 881.25 (€ 1,276.60).
