Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Raphael could be acquired at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Canadian Art auction, the work Habitants And Their Dog changed hands for CAD 11,400.00 (€ 8,307.86) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of CAD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Raphael - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three Montagnais Indian Birch Bark Wigwams, Point-Au-Pic, Murray Bay, which sold at auction in November 2012 for CAD 30,000.00 (€ 23,218.29).
