This artwork by William Percy French achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2007. In the The Irish Sale Part II auction, the work Morning light over the rushes sold for GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,712.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Percy French have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Paint Brush and Pen: Some Impressions for Pictures and Snatches of Song by William Percy French'; an album of thirteen watercolours including The Fairie's Cough; Morning; Evening; In the Studio; The Kindly Welcome; To E.R.; To the Dark Rosaleen; Gor in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 58,750.00 (€ 94,27
