Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction The 10th Anniversary Irish Sale, which included the work A Flooded Peat Bog With Mountains In The Distance, Connemara by William Percy French. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,882.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Percy French achieve. Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion The 10th Anniversary Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Flooded Peat Bog With Mountains In The Distance, Connemara von William Percy French zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.400,00 (€ 7.882,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Percy French erzielen.
