Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included this untitled work by William Paterson Ewen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 33,000.00 (€ 25,788.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by William Paterson Ewen have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2009 the work Hail Storm was auctioned for CAD 77,250.00 (€ 51,523.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von William Paterson Ewen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 33.000,00 (€ 25.788,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von William Paterson Ewen konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2009 die Arbeit Hail Storm für CAD 77.250,00 (€ 51.523,36) versteigert.
