Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures, which included the work An Evening Walk by William Page Atkinson Wells. The price achieved of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,346.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Page Atkinson Wells - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Lilac Sunbonnet, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,339.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2006 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Evening Walk von William Page Atkinson Wells zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.346,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Page Atkinson Wells mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Lilac Sunbonnet beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.339,71) versteigert wurde.
