This artwork by William Nelson Copley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October this year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Petit Point sold for GBP 35,840.00 (€ 41,154.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Nelson Copley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gingham Girls in May last year with an auction result of USD 579,600.00 (€ 540,117.42).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Nelson Copley erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Petit Point für GBP 35.840,00 (€ 41.154,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Nelson Copley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gingham Girls im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 579.600,00 (€ 540.117,42).
