Auction result misses estimated price range

In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Summer Day, East Gloucester by William Meyerowitz for USD 937.50 (€ 673.54). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by William Meyerowitz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mending the Nets in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,562.17).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Summer Day, East Gloucester von William Meyerowitz für USD 937,50 (€ 673,54) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Meyerowitz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mending the Nets im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.562,17).
