Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art Online, which included the work A basket of strawberries, peaches and other fruit on a stone ledge by William Jones of Bath. The price achieved of GBP 640.00 (€ 640.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Jones of Bath - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A cat with two fish, which sold at auction in June 2014 for SEK 18,000.00 (€ 1,965.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit A basket of strawberries, peaches and other fruit on a stone ledge von William Jones of Bath zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 640,00 (€ 640,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Jones of Bath mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A cat with two fish beobachtet, die im Juni 2014 für SEK 18.000,00 (€ 1.965,67) versteigert wurde.
