In January 2009 Christies in New York held the auction American Furniture and Decorative Arts including English and Dutch Delft, which included the work Portrait of Alexander Hamilton by William Weaver. The price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 24,406.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Other works by William Weaver have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in January 2006 the work Portrait of Alexander Hamilton was auctioned for USD 33,600.00 (€ 27,636.12).
