Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,309.26). Admittedly, works by William Howard Yorke have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The American clipper Caravan rendering assistance to a British full-rigger in mid-Atlantic in July 2003 with an auction result of USD 23,900.00 (€ 19,415.11).
