Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction West ~ East - The Niall Hobhouse Collection, which included the work Tiger Hunting by William Henry Florio Hutchinson. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,925.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Henry Florio Hutchinson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Nautch At The Court Of Humayun Jah, Nawab Of Bengal (1810-1838) At Murshidabad, With The Nawab And The British Resident Seated On The Right, which sold at auction in October 2017 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,504.89).
