Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Gunning King could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work At the corner of Sheep Street, Petersfield, Hampshire; and A sunlit woodland glade changed hands for GBP 293.75 (€ 474.74) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Gunning King achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Strawberry gatherers in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,183.89).
