Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2012 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Trout And Pike by William Geddes. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,659.52) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Geddes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Out Shooting, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 5,355.00 (€ 6,279.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trout And Pike von William Geddes zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.659,52) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Geddes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Out Shooting beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für GBP 5.355,00 (€ 6.279,85) versteigert wurde.
