Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Church interior, Soller, Majorca by William Ewart Lockhart for GBP 119.50 (€ 178.88). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Ewart Lockhart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alnaschar's Fortune, Arabian Nights in November 2011 with an auction result of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 43,485.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Church interior, Soller, Majorca von William Ewart Lockhart für GBP 119,50 (€ 178,88) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Ewart Lockhart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alnaschar's Fortune, Arabian Nights im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.250,00 (€ 43.485,56).
