Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work An English village set in open countryside by William Evans of Bristol for GBP 1,134.00 (€ 1,344.48). This price was achieved in the auction Dramas of Light and Land: The Martyn Gregory Collection of British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Evans of Bristol - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Falls of Machno, near Bettws-y-Coed, North Wales, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,286.52).
