Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs by William Eggleston from the Collection of Bruce and Nancy Berman, which included the work Untitled, 1972, from 10.D.70.V1 by William Eggleston. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,913.89) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Eggleston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, 1970 in May this year with an auction result of USD 1,008,000.00 (€ 946,123.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs by William Eggleston from the Collection of Bruce and Nancy Berman durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1972, from 10.D.70.V1 von William Eggleston zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.913,89) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Eggleston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, 1970 im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.008.000,00 (€ 946.123,52).
