This artwork by William de Leftwich Dodge achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in August last year. In the American Art auction, the work Boats and Harbor sold for USD 4,845.00 (€ 4,813.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William de Leftwich Dodge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of the Artist's Daughter, which sold at auction in September 2007 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,549.27).
