Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rainbow in the West 9 x 12 1/4 in. framed 12 x 15 in. by William De La Montagne Cary was sold in the The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,322.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William De La Montagne Cary achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Buffalo Signal (Game in Sight) in May last year with an auction result of USD 94,500.00 (€ 88,062.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rainbow in the West 9 x 12 1/4 in. framed 12 x 15 in. von William De La Montagne Cary wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.322,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William De La Montagne Cary erzielen.
