Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Crouch could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British Art on Paper auction, the work An Extensive Capriccio Landscape With A Fortress In The Distance; And An Extensive Capriccio River Landscape With A Temple In The Foreground changed hands for GBP 720.00 (€ 1,057.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Other works by William Crouch have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2006 by the work View of Mont Blanc at GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,603.83).
