Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William B. Hough could be acquired at Sothebys in Olympia in July 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings auction, the work Still Life changed hands for GBP 960.00 (€ 1,425.82) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William B. Hough - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pears and plums on a mossy bank, which sold at auction in September 2003 for GBP 2,937.50 (€ 2,958.86).

In der Auktion British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Still Life für GBP 960,00 (€ 1.425,82) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00.
