Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Kidwelly Castle, Carmarthenshire by William Andrews Nesfield. The price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,604.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Andrews Nesfield - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unloading the catch before a ruined castle at sunset, which sold at auction in May 2011 for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,716.38).

Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kidwelly Castle, Carmarthenshire von William Andrews Nesfield zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.604,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Andrews Nesfield mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unloading the catch before a ruined castle at sunset beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.716,38) versteigert wurde.
