Sold at the lower estimate price
In September 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work The Plain, Late Afternoon by William Anderson Coffin. The result of USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,219.71) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Anderson Coffin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Mandolin Player, which sold at auction in September 2005 for USD 15,600.00 (€ 12,937.47).

Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.219,71) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00.
