Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A tavern still life with fruit in a copper bowl by Willem van Nieuwenhoven was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2004. The price achieved of EUR 956.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem van Nieuwenhoven - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A shoemaker at work, which sold at auction in July 2000 for NLG 5,851.00 (€ 2,571.89).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 956,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Willem van Nieuwenhoven mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A shoemaker at work beobachtet, die im Juli 2000 für NLG 5.851,00 (€ 2.571,89) versteigert wurde.
