In April 2001 Christies in Singapore held the auction SOUTHEAST ASIAN PICTURES AND 20TH CENTURY INDIAN PICTURES, which included the work A moonlit landscape; A view of the sawah with mountains in the distance by Willem van der Does. Here, the upper estimate of SGD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for SGD 3,290.00 (€ 2,035.77). Other works by Willem van der Does have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of EUR 3,500.00 in December 2013 for the work An Ox-Drawn Cart, Surabaya.
