The result of EUR 4,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Johannes Martens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The happy family, which sold at auction in November 2002 for GBP 7,637.50 (€ 11,959.93).

Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 4.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Willem Johannes Martens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The happy family beobachtet, die im November 2002 für GBP 7.637,50 (€ 11.959,93) versteigert wurde.
