Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Stork, A Pheasant, A Blackcock And Another Bird In A Landscape by Willem Hendrik Wilhelmus van Royen was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,156.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Hendrik Wilhelmus van Royen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A parrot, peacocks, hens and other birds in a park landscape in November 2008 with an auction result of EUR 70,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Stork, A Pheasant, A Blackcock And Another Bird In A Landscape von Willem Hendrik Wilhelmus van Royen im Juli 2011 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.156,04) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Hendrik Wilhelmus van Royen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A parrot, peacocks, hens and other birds in a park landscape im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 70.600,00.
