The price achieved of EUR 17,925.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A Seated Monkey is the most expensive artwork by Willem Coenraad Brouwer that we have observed at auctions so far.
