In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work An old woman weighing gold, or Allegory of Avarice by Willem Bartsius. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 81,250.00 (€ 91,099.12), 63% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Willem Bartsius have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Joueur De Luth in April 2014 with an auction result of EUR 505,500.00.

Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit An old woman weighing gold, or Allegory of Avarice von Willem Bartsius zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 91.099,12) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Bartsius auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Joueur De Luth im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 505.500,00.
