This artwork by Will Sparks achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Los Angeles in October 2000. In the CALIFORNIA WESTERN&AMERICAN PAINTINGS DRAWINGS&SCULPTURE auction, the work Adobe in Moonlight sold for USD 9,400.00 (€ 11,077.07) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Will Sparks; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Moonlit Village sold at auction in August 2018 with the realized price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,935.49).
