Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Village Scene by Wilhelm Velten was sold in the Russian Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in June 2008. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,690.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wilhelm Velten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Riding Out ; And Before The Hunt, which sold at auction in September 2004 for GBP 17,925.00 (€ 26,114.46).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.690,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden.
