Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Departure by Wilhelm Velten was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 10,800.00 (€ 9,003.75). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wilhelm Velten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Riding Out ; And Before The Hunt, which sold at auction in September 2004 for GBP 17,925.00 (€ 26,114.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Departure von Wilhelm Velten im Oktober 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 10.800,00 (€ 9.003,75) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Wilhelm Velten mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Riding Out ; And Before The Hunt beobachtet, die im September 2004 für GBP 17.925,00 (€ 26.114,46) versteigert wurde.
