Auction result well in line with expectations
The work German Die Rast (The Halt) by Wilhelm Velten was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2008. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,054.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wilhelm Velten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Riding Out ; And Before The Hunt in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 17,925.00 (€ 26,114.46).
