This price was achieved in the auction Autumn Classic Sale, Stockholm at Bukowski in Stockholm and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of SEK 25,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wilhelm Smith; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Winter scene from the streets of Stockholm sold at auction in December 2020 with the realized price of SEK 180,000.00 (€ 17,926.41).
